Match report

Today our visitors were Tattenhoe jaguars. It was 1st round match in higher cup, again a new challenge as previous two years were in development cup competitions although successful.        Our form going in to this fixture, not great but there were signs of return to form of such.  We started well today, straight from kick off, pressing well and confident on the ball. With our first attack we scored through Christian, via nice move from Jari and Colin. The play continued to be good and incisive from all areas on the pitch, which was pleasing. We continued to score goals , Colin adding two , Jari , Tyler, josh h, Samuel, Yannis and Christian   To their credit Tattenhoe , continued to try and play football and created a few threatening moments on Harris's goal. They did eventually score from one of these occasions - we went in half time 9-1 up.  Half- Time  Told the boys to keep momentum, and really impressed with the way they started the game and all-round play in general.  Second -  Half  In fairness second half was not so one sided - We mixed up the team a little putting our attackers in defence and defence in attack , opportunity for the boys to develop themselves and added to that Tattenhoe were also more of a threat . The play was still of a reasonable standard even though players positions were changed , and further goals came from James , Vinny , Jeremy (two) , Colin and Jari . Tattenhoe added to their tally also with three goals themselves.  Final- score 15-4  Well done boys - today you took on board what myself / des said and applied it straight from kick off ! Your pressing was good, your creativeness was clever and more importantly to a player you all put the effort in. When you do this, added to your threat offensively I think you can be a very competitive/ hard opponent for most teams. The big challenge though - individually you all need to maintain this level of performance. Challenge set!!!  Star-player - Colin Mbugia Well- Done, a really good performance today, took your goals well, but more pleasing was other parts of your game. Your work in pressing and tracking back with their players when they had possession was good but also distribution of the ball, to players in better positions was better! Well- done; try to maintain this is as your standard and try and further it!  Thank-you to Panell, for stepping in to referee today's game and also to Juke for doing the line. It frees me/ des to manage / coach the boys; which the boys need!  Lastly thank you to parents assisting and supporting the boys. Atrocious conditions today, especially for standing supporting, and packing away the goals (big thank you)  Clive
